What is Family Council?

Normanna’s Family Council is made up of relatives and friends of Normanna residents, working collaboratively with staff to uphold and improve the quality of life for those in care. It provides families with a platform to have a say in decisions that impact their loved ones.

Through the Family Council, families can offer each other support, share helpful information, and provide encouragement. It serves as a space for families to voice ideas, concerns, and work toward positive change. The Council plays an especially important role for residents who are physically or mentally unable to advocate for their own needs.

Our objectives are to:

• Educate and inform families
• Exchange ideas to collaboratively solve problems
• Foster open, two-way communication between families, residents, and the facility
• Work together with staff, families, and residents to address the needs and interests of all involved
• Offer mutual support for residents and their families
