Christopher Hope, Secretary
Chris was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1999 after completing the Professional Legal Training Course at the Law Society of British Columbia. He earned his J.D. from the University of Victoria in 1998 and previously completed a B.A. in History and English at the same institution in 1995. He has practiced law since 1999 and is currently a lawyer with Northpoint Legal LLP in Vancouver, previously practicing with Race & Company and Lindsay Kenney LLP. His practice includes a broad range of litigation matters, with frequent appearances before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Provincial Court of British Columbia, as well as occasional appearances before the Court of Appeal for British Columbia. He has handled cases involving commercial disputes, administrative law, contracts, estates, human rights, and related matters.
In addition to his legal practice, he is the author of Plus TC&D: The Assessment of Costs and Disbursements in Motor Vehicle Injury Litigation, published in multiple editions by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia. He currently serves as Director and Secretary of the Norwegian Old People’s Home Association and has held numerous adjudicative and governance roles, including Tribunal Member with the Property Assessment Appeal Board, Tribunal Member with the Employment and Assistance Appeal Tribunal, Arbitrator under the South Coast BC Transportation Authority Act (TransLink fare infraction tribunal), Executive Board Member of the Vancouver Bar Association, and Director of the Abbotsford Fish and Game Club. In 2023, he also completed his commercial helicopter pilot training and licensing through Transport Canada and BC Helicopters.
