Ankur Merwaha, Treasurer
Ankur is an Accounting and Business Advisor and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who operates his own accounting practice in Surrey. He brings extensive experience from senior accounting and audit roles with Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health, as well as public practice firms including BDO Canada and KPMG. While working in the Internal Audit department at Fraser Health until 2020, he conducted operational and financial audits of third-party providers, including mental health and home health organizations, and collaborated closely with contract management teams at both health authorities. His background provides him with strong expertise in financial oversight, governance, risk management, and accountability.
In addition to his professional experience, Ankur previously served for over three years as a board member of a non-profit cultural society, contributing to its growth through grant applications, financial stewardship, record review, and member engagement. He also supported emerging professionals as a Social Committee Member with the CPA School of Business from 2013 to 2017, fostering networking and professional development. Having lived across from Normanna on 13th Avenue for more than a decade, with his parents still residing in the neighborhood, Ankur has a deep personal connection to the community and is eager to dedicate his time and expertise to serving and giving back.
